Thomas Wendeborn

Thomas Wendeborn (born as Thomas Borchert) (* 1983 in Eisenhüttenstadt ) is a German sports scientist and university professor .

Life

Between 2003 and 2007 he studied sports science and education at the Technical University of Chemnitz . His doctoral thesis “Without a false bottom, but with a network? Promotion of athletic talent and social support at elite sports schools in Brandenburg ”was accepted at the TU Chemnitz in 2012, with the reviewers Albrecht Hummel and Ralf Brand . From 2013 to 2015 worked as a research assistant at the University of Potsdam, first in sports psychology and then in sports didactics. In March 2015 he took up a position as junior professor for empirical educational research in sport at the University of Leipzig, which he held until April 2017. In February 2019 he took over a professorship for sports education at the Institute for Sports Science at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich .

The focus of his scientific work includes the multiple loads in top-class sport (sport, school, training, studies, work), the training of teachers in sport, e-sport and digitalization in sport.
