Thoralf Klein
Thoralf Klein (born May 29, 1967 in Hüttental ) is a German historian .
Thoralf Klein studied history, political science and sinology in Bonn , Guangzhou and Freiburg i. Br. 2000 he did his doctorate in Freiburg i. Br. From 2000 to 2003 he was a research assistant and from 2003 to 2007 research assistant at the Chair for East Asian History at the University of Erfurt . From 2007 to 2008 Klein was a visiting scientist at the University of Konstanz . From 2008 to 2010, Klein was again a research assistant at the Chair for East Asian History at the University of Erfurt. Since 2010 he has been a Senior Lecturer in Modern History in the Department of History, Politics and International Relations at Loughborough University .
His work focuses on the cultural and social history of China since 1800, the history of German-Chinese relations, the history of Christianity in China, and colonial history.
