Through a Long and Sleepless Night is a song from the film's soundtrack ... and Heaven is laughing at it from 1949. The song was composed by Alfred Newman , and the lyrics to by Mack Gordon . It is sung in the film by Dorothy Patrick with the voice of Eileen Wilson and Hugh Marlowe with the voice of Ken Darby .

The song tells of the longings of a long, sleepless night in which one asks oneself who is to blame for the broken relationship and whether the other tosses around in bed so sleeplessly.
