Thymus bracteosus is a plant type from the genus of thyme ( Thymus ) in the family of Labiatae .

Thymus bracteosus is a small shrub that forms long, prostrate, woody stems , from which about 10 cm long, flower-bearing and hairy to tomentose stems extend. The leaves are 10 to 17 mm long and 2 to 3 mm wide. They are elongated, spatulate, blunt, herbaceous, hairless and ciliate in the lower half.
The inflorescences are kapitula . The bracts are up to 13 mm long and 6 mm wide, egg-shaped, long ciliate and often partly purple in color. The calyx is 5 to 6 mm long (rarely only 4), the calyx tube is almost cylindrical, shorter than the lips and, at least on the underside, bristly hairy. The upper teeth are about 1.5 to 2 cm long, narrowly lanceolate and ciliate. The crown is 6 to 8 mm long and colored purple.
Occurrence and locations
The species occurs in the west of Croatia.
