Tibor Taraš (born September 24, 1997 in Cologne ) is a German basketball player. He is deployed in position two ( shooting guard ).

career

He started playing basketball in his hometown of Cologne at the age of nine. In 2013 he moved from the youth department of the Cologne 99ers to TSV Breitengüßbach , which serves as a young talent for Bundesliga club Brose Bamberg . Initially, Taraš played in youth and in the 1st regional league for Breitengüßbach, and from 2014 also in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA at FC Baunach , which is also part of the Bamberg youth network and is introduced to the first division squad through the player. At the beginning of 2015 he received a four-year contract from Bamberg.

In May 2016 he won the youth basketball league title with Breitengüßbach's U19 and was named the best player in the final tournament. After the end of the 2017/18 season, in which with 12.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per match, the best statistical values ​​of his Baunach ProA time had recorded (came to a deployment in the Bamberg Bundesliga team he didn't), he left Upper Franconia and moved to RheinStars Cologne in the 2. Bundesliga ProB . He played a game for Cologne and was signed by FC Schalke 04 (2nd Bundesliga ProA) in mid-October 2018 . At the end of November 2018, he left the “Royal Blues” and retired from professional basketball for personal reasons.

In the summer of 2019 he moved again to the RheinStars Cologne (meanwhile 1st regional league). In the 2019/20 season, which was canceled in mid-March 2020 due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, Taraš was the best scorer of the Cologne team with 20.8 points per match, which ended the shortened game year in first place in the 1st Regionalliga West.

National team

Taraš drove with the German U16 national team to the EM 2013 in Kiev and with the U18 national team to the EM 2015 in Volos .
