The nature reserve Tiefenbachtal near Rollesbroich with tributaries is located in the municipality of Simmerath , north of Rollesbroich .

description

The Tiefenbach is a typical low mountain range with a stony, unobstructed brook bottom. The flow velocity varies, forming pools and bank breaks. The floodplain is mainly grassland, on the banks of the stream is Erlenauwald . As the catchment area of ​​the Kall, it forms a biotope network of near-natural sections of water. Existing spruce stands are to be transformed into deciduous forest stands in the long term .

Protection purpose

The habitats are to be protected for many plants, fungi and animals that are endangered according to the Red List .
