Tim Brys (* 30th July 1992 in Ghent ) is a Belgian lightweight - rowers .

At the U23 World Championships in 2011, 1.88 m tall Tim Brys and Gilles Poysat took tenth place in the lightweight double sculls , and in 2012 the two finished eleventh. In 2014 Brys reached sixth place in the lightweight one . In 2015 Brys also took part in the lightweight single at the world championships in the adult class and came in seventh place as the winner of the B final.

From 2016 Tim Brys started together with Niels Van Zandweghe in the lightweight double scull . At the European Championships in 2016 , the two finished fifth. Two weeks later they won the last qualifying regatta for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in Lucerne . However, Hannes Obreno won the race in the qualifying regatta and only one Belgian boat could be nominated in this way. The Belgian federation opted for Obreno, who was then Olympic champion in Rio de Janeiro.

Brys and Van Zandweghe finished fifth at the World Championships in Sarasota in 2017 . In 2018 they finished fourth at the European Championships in Glasgow. At the World Championships in Plovdiv, they took third place behind the Irish and the Italians. In 2019 they won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Lucerne behind the Germans and Italians .
