Tim Cross , CBE (born 1951 ) is a Major General ret. D. the British Army .

Life

Tim Cross joined the British Forces in 1971. In the 1970s he served as an ammunition technical officer in Northern Ireland . In the 1980s, he was in the context of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus in Cyprus . In 1998 he became a member of the management of the General Staff Academy and took over the management of the 1st Gun Battalion. During the Second Gulf War he was used in the British Operation Granby as a supply officer ( Commander Supply ) of the 1st Armored Division.

In May 1993 he was appointed Colonel ( Colonel transported) and became head of logistics for the 3rd Division of the British Army. In February 1996 he was promoted to brigadier .

In December 1997 he became the commander of the 101st Logistics Brigade and was responsible for the British part of the logistics within the SFOR . IN January 1999, the 101st Logistics Brigade was relocated to Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo, and Tim Cross became responsible for the Joint Force Logistic Component (JFLogC) within KFOR .

In 2007 the - now retired Major General - expressed sharp criticism of the US strategy in the Iraq war . Especially Donald Rumsfeld was blamed by Tim Cross.

Cross is married and has two sons and a daughter.
