Tim Moore
Tim Moore (born May 18, 1964 in Chipping Norton ) is a British author and journalist. His books and texts are mostly about travel and cycling in a humorous way .
biography
After finishing school, Tim Moore began studying that "ended strangely," as he says himself - the exact circumstances are unknown. He then worked as a journalist for various newspapers and as a video game critic .
In 1998 Moore went on a trip to the Arctic “by chance” , after which the book Frost on My Mustache was written, in which he traces a journey by Lord Dufferin to the northern spheres. In 2005 his book Two Donkeys on the Camino de Santiago was published for the first time , in which he reports on his experiences on the Camino de Santiago accompanied by a donkey named Shinto .
In 2014 Tim Moore published the book Gironimo! A man, a bike and the toughest tour of Italy of all time , which, due to his re-enactment of the 3162 kilometer Giro d'Italia 1914 , in which 81 riders started, but only eight reached the finish, with one made from contemporary components (including wooden rims ) assembled wheel was created. “Tim Moore interweaves Gironimo with incomparable humor ! own suffering and experience with astonishing reminiscences of a race from the heroic era of cycling, which is certainly not exaggerated to be described as ludicrous. In it, he describes his experiences while driving down the former Iron Curtain on the 10,000-kilometer EuroVelo 13 - also known as the Iron Curtain Trail - with a MIFA mini-bike made in the GDR that cost him £ 50 when he bought it. By 2017 he had published nine books in English.
In addition to his work as a book author, Moore writes columns for newspapers such as the Daily Telegraph , the Observer , the Sunday Times , the Guardian , the Financial Times and the BBC Lonely Planet Magazine .
