Tim Wafler (born January 28, 2002 in Kitzbühel ) is an Austrian cyclist who races on track and road .

Athletic career

Tim Wafler is a son of the former racing cyclist Roland "Jimmy" Wafler , who today (as of 2019) works as a national coach at the Austrian Performance Center. The day the father competed in his last race, the son started his first.

In 2018, Wafler became Austrian youth champion in the individual time trial on the road. In the track cycling event "The Next Generation" in Omnisport in Dutch Apeldoorn he put together with Lukas Viehberger , Valentin Götzinger and Paul Buschek a new Austrian junior record in the team pursuit : to (4 31.895 minutes).

In the following year, Wafler had further successes on the track: He won the silver medal in scratch at the European Junior Championships in Ghent . At the Junior World Championships , he finished fourth in the Omnium and sixth in the Scratch. He also won several national titles this year, in the elite and junior classes.
