Tipp-Kick figure with ball

Tipp-Kick is a game for two people that simulates a soccer ball . The playing field consists of a playing board, two goals, two goalkeepers and two field players who can be positioned at will (exception: they may not be placed in the penalty area) and a two-colored, twelve-sided ball. In the clubs and throughout the game, one is covered with felt 1: 100 scale plate played to the soccer field. In contrast to table football with playing figures on fixed poles, the playing figures are moved on the playing field during the tip kick. By tapping the button on the pawn, the foot moves and kicks the ball. This ball is cuboctahedral (12-sided) and consists of two different colored halves of the same size (usually black and white, more rarely yellow and red).

history

Game scene from a Tipp-Kick game encounter

The Tipp-Kick game was invented by the Stuttgart furniture manufacturer Carl Mayer, who applied for a patent for the game in 1921 (Reich patent 387569 of September 15, 1921 for a "soccer board game"). The Schwenninger export salesman Edwin Mieg acquired the license in 1924, set out in the same year independently and developed the game to a market-driven products, which became a real bestseller until the year 1934 to the 1938th After his death in 1949, the sons took over the company; today the grandchildren Jochen and Mathias Mieg are the heads of the family business. After winning the World Cup title in 1954 , the game experienced a boom, with the goalkeeper receiving the name “Turek” in reference to the world champion and “football god” Toni Turek .

The original sheet metal figures have become more precise kickers today, but the basic principle has remained the same: The field player kicks the ball using the right, movable leg, while the player mechanically actuates the leg with a push button on the head of the game figure. The balls, originally made from cork with special saws, are now molded from plastic. They are twelve-sided, have 14 faces (six squares and eight equilateral triangles) and one half is black and the other half is white.

Club Tip Kick is played on specially created tournament tables.

German individual championships have been held every two years since 1959, and have been held annually from 1974. Participation in the championships is open. The most successful Tipp-Kick player is Normann Koch from Concordia Lübeck, who managed to become German individual champion seven times. 2018 title holder is Michael Kaus (TKC Gallus Frankfurt)

Nowadays, Tipp-Kick is played in leagues, just like the great example of football. The highest league in Germany is the Bundesliga. These include the 2nd Bundesliga, regional and association leagues. In addition, there is the cup, in which teams from all parts of Germany meet in the knockout system. The team strength is four players.

Concordia Lübeck with Sebastian Winckelmann, Dirk Kallies, Normann Koch and Oliver Schell is the record champion with 12 titles. The current German team champion and DTKV cup winner is the 1st TKC Kaiserslautern with the players Philipp Baadte, Sebastian Baadte, Jochen Hahnel, Mathias Hahnel and Christoph Ihme.

For the Soccer World Cup Women 2011 figures were produced for the first time, representing the female players.

Rules of the game

The playing field has a size of 106 cm × 70 cm. Each player can choose to use up to four field players, but only one field player per team is allowed at the same time who can also be used for defense. Color and side changes occur at halftime, only one ball is used per game. The field player may play the ball whose color is on top of the ball. The goalkeeper may play the ball within his penalty area regardless of color. The player who scores the most goals in 2 × 5 minutes wins. An extension consists of 2 × 2 minutes. Scoring a goal is permitted from anywhere on the field of play, except for kick-off, kick-off and kick-in. The field player in question can be set up as a defensive player during a shot by the opponent, but may withdraw no more than his own penalty area and must be at least two player lengths away from the ball.

Tactics

The trick when shooting the ball is the strength of the tapping of the playing figure in connection with the distance and the angular position of the foot to the ball. The condition of the foot is also decisive. This weft foot can be edited with a file according to the preferences of the human player. For example, it is possible to use a certain filing technique to design the foot so that it is able to turn the ball with skillful handling of the playing figure, so that the goalkeeper is considerably more difficult to defend the ball. In most cases, the entire firing leg is replaced by a special product made of stainless steel in order to have the greatest advantages in the game.

Play of colors

The color game is a central tactical element of the modern tip-kick game.

In the color game, the twelve-sided tip-kick ball, which is half black and half white, is played in such a way that it remains on a certain "color" intended by the shooter. This is usually done by rotating the ball on the complementary color, i.e. the color of the opponent. The game of colors, which only found its way into the German Tipp-Kick scene in the 1980s (the German record champion Normann Koch from Blau Weiss Concordia Lübeck is considered to be the inventor), has revolutionized the Tipp-Kick game. With the color game, it has become possible to reduce the random factor of a tip-kick game to a minimum, since luck only decides in a few game situations on which color the ball remains and which player is therefore on the move.

Today there are only very few players in the league and tournament operations of the German Tipp-Kick Association who do not practice a color game.

German Tipp-Kick Association (DTKV)

In German Tipp-Kick Association (DTKV) are organized from Germany Tip-kicker. There are around 50 clubs with 649 (as of 2010/2011 season) active players with a wide range in terms of age (10 to 70 years).

President of the DTKV is Peter Funke from the Flinken Fingern from Fürstenfeldbruck.

The oldest Tipp-Kick club in Germany is TFG 38 Hildesheim, which has been actively involved since 1938.

reception

Celebrities like Campino von den Toten Hosen and the Hoeneß brothers Uli and Dieter are (were) enthusiastic Tipp-Kick players. In the film From the Depth of Space , a Tipp-Kick figure is transformed into a real person who is becoming more and more similar to Günter Netzer .
