The Tyrolean Anemone ( Anemone baldensis ) is a kind from the genus Anemone ( Anemone ) in the family of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). It is also called the Monte Baldo anemone or Baldo anemone . The plant occurs in the Alps , especially in the Southern Alps.

description

It is an herbaceous plant that grows 5 to 15 cm tall. The leaves are composed of threefold, the individual leaflets are again three-edged with deeply divided sections. The flower has eight to ten white tepals , the flower diameter is 2.5 to 4 cm. Flowering time is from June to August.

distribution

Stony meadows and rock debris are the substrate on which the Tyrolean anemone thrives. Especially in South Tyrol , in the Dolomites and in the Monte Baldo area between the Adige Valley and Lake Garda , the Tyrolean anemone thrives on chalky soils at the alpine altitude of 1800 to 3000 m above sea level. In the northern Limestone Alps, the plant occurs only very rarely, in the western Alps it is endangered.
