Titular diocese of Trevico

Trevico is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .

It goes back to a submerged bishopric in the city ​​of the same name , which is located in Campania , and was assigned to the Archdiocese of Benevento as a suffragan diocese . Trevico is under Pope Stephen IX. named among the possessions of Benevento, but the date of the foundation of the diocese is unknown. The first bishops known by name are documented in the 12th century. In 1818 the Diocese of Trevico was united with the Diocese of Lacedonia , which was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Conza . In 1968 it was revived as a titular bishopric.
