Johannes Antonius de Kok OFM (born August 28, 1930 in The Hague , Netherlands ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Utrecht .

Life

Johannes Antonius de Kok was ordained a priest in the Order of the Franciscans on March 11, 1956 . After his habilitation and a time as a professor of church history at the Catholic Theological University in Utrecht , he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Utrecht on January 15, 1982 and titular bishop of Trevico . The Archbishop of Utrecht and President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity , Johannes Gerardus Maria Cardinal Willebrands , gave him and his fellow-Bishop Johannes Bernardus Nienhaus on March 6 of that year, the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were Bernard Jan Cardinal Alfrink , Archbishop Emeritus of Utrecht, Johann Bernard Wilhelm Maria Möller , Bishop of Groningen , and Rudolf Joseph Manfred Staverman OFM , Bishop Emeritus of Jayapura .

On August 27, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation. Since then, Bishop De Kok has been working on the archives of the Franciscan Order in the Netherlands. In 2008 he published eight eeuwen minder-broeders in Nederland - Een oriëntatie (631 pages)
