Swell:

The Bjärka Säby – Västervik railway is a Swedish railway that runs 96 km from Bjärka Säby to Västervik . It is referred to as Tjustbana , although the name of the route is not a historical name, but an art term created by Banverket in 1988.

The single-track and non-electrified railway line was created from the merger of the Bjärka Säby – Åtvidaberg railway line, built in 1920 by Östra Centralbanans Järnvägsaktiebolag (ÖCJ), and parts of the former narrow-gauge railway BersholmVästervik – Hultsfreds Järnvägar (NVHJ) –built in 1879 ).

The Åtvidaberg – Västervik section of the narrow-gauge railway was converted to standard gauge in 1964 . Today the railway line is used by regional trains from Veolia Transport .

The last freight train on the route was driven by the TMZ 108 on July 9, 2013 . The wood that was loaded in the port of Västervik up to that point and then transported to the Billerud Group's paper mill in Grums on the Göteborg – Kil railway line has since been transported via the port of Gävle .
