Tobi Katzen , actually Tobias Rauh (born April 12, 1981 in Hamm ) is a German author and Slampoet .

Life

In 2007 he received the LesArt Prize for Young Literature in Dortmund for a short story about the residents of Dortmund's Südstadt. His first independent book publication after various publications in anthologies was in 2012 the collection " Rocknrollmitbuchstaben " (published by Blaulicht-Verlag), in which short stories and stage texts were combined. For the website of Stern magazine, he started early 2014 the online blog The opposite of sad , for two years he wrote there on the (working) life and dealing with the disease depression . As a result, the novel " Tomorrow is unfortunately still a day " was published by Rowohlt in 2015 : Here, Katzen again dealt with the subject of depression in a humorous way, but now in novel form. The book reached number 4 in the Spiegel bestseller list (category: paperback) and stayed in the list for a few weeks. With his novel, Katzen went on a Germany-wide reading tour, and it was also published as an audio book.

In addition to his own readings, Tobi Katzen is also a regular participant in poetry slams ; in 2013 he reached the final of the NRW slam in the Weststadthalle Essen. Together with the North Rhine-Westphalian national champion from 2014, Sandra Da Vina , he regularly presents the program " The Suffering of Young Words " in Bochum .
