course
The Todtglüsinger Bach rises in a meadow east of Tostedt towards Todtglüsingen. It flows through a rain retention basin on Niedersachsenstraße before entering Todtglüsingen, is then channeled for a few hundred meters in concrete channels and runs through Todtglüsingen. After crossing under the K 57, it feeds a few ponds, then flows through woods and meadows close to the town's soft surface and remains clearly straightened here . At the level of the last houses it passes through a few fish ponds, then on the last third of its course an uninhabited forest and meadow landscape. It flows into the Este from the left and south-west opposite the Tostedt sewage treatment plant .
Status
The Todtglüsinger Bach is heavily polluted in the upper reaches (quality class III) and critically polluted in the lower reaches (quality class II-III).
Traffic rules
Due to the intensive use of the Estonians by recreational sports and canoe rental companies, the Harburg district issued an ordinance in 2002 for the Estonians, their backwaters and the associated bank areas, which is intended to protect the habitat of plants and animals. Since then, driving and entering the Todtglüsinger Bach is prohibited all year round.
