Tomás O'Leary (born October 22, 1983 in County Cork ) is an Irish rugby union player . He plays as the scrum half for the Irish national team and Munster Province .

O'Leary played through the country's youth national teams and reached the 2004 U21 World Cup final. He also played for Ireland's 7th selection . In 2007 he made his debut for the men's national team against Argentina . Since the November international games in 2008, he has been part of the regular formation of Ireland and was also part of the squad that won the Grand Slam at the Six Nations 2009 . As a result, he was nominated for the British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa . However, he broke an ankle in the Magners League game against the Scarlets and was out for the rest of the season and summer.

O'Leary's father Seánie O'Leary is a well-known hurling player .
