Tom Byron (* 4 April 1961 in Houston , Texas , USA as Thomas Bryan Taliaferro, Jr. ) is an American porn star .

Life

Byron grew up in Texas. When he was 18, he moved from Houston to Los Angeles , where he worked at Le Sex Shoppe . In 1982 he joined Jim South 's World Modeling , one of the largest agencies in the US porn industry. He played in the hardcore feature film Up & Cumming on the side of Marilyn Chambers .

Along with Peter North , Joey Silvera and Marc Wallice , Byron is considered the most successful male actor of the 1980s. From 1982 to 1990 Byron starred in over 1,000 films. During this time he met Traci Lords , with whom he had a relationship.

In 1991 Byron was in trouble with the US tax authorities over tax evasion. At the end of 1992 he left the porn industry for a short time.

In 1997 Byron signed an exclusive contract with Elegant Angel and was offered directing a series. He later left the company and founded Extreme Associates . Tiffany Mynx became the first contract model. Byron founded the wrestling organization XPW (Xtreme Pro Wrestling) together with Rob Black . Tom Byron was inducted into the AVN (Adult Video News) Hall of Fame and the XRCO (X-Rated Critics Organization) Hall of Fame .
