Marilyn Chambers (born April 22, 1952 in Providence , Rhode Island , † April 12, 2009 in Santa Clarita , California ; actually Marilyn Ann Briggs ) was an American porn actress who was featured in the 1972 porn film Behind the Green Door Night became world famous. At the beginning of her career she also appeared under her own name Marilyn Briggs and the stage name Evelyn Lang .

Life

She had one of her first film roles in 1970 in The Owl and the Kitten by Herbert Ross . When Behind the Green Door came out in 1972 , she was featured on the packaging of the Ivory Snow detergent brand as a “young mother with a baby”; The Procter & Gamble company then removed their photo from the packaging, which further increased public interest in the film. She had her first leading role outside of the porn genre in 1977 in David Cronenberg's Rabid - The Roaring Death as Rose . In 1980 she starred in Insatiable , for the sequel, Insatiable II, she received an XRCO Award in 1985 . She was a member of the AVN Hall of Fame .

From 1975 to 1985 she was married to Chuck Traynor , who had previously been in a relationship with Linda Lovelace , the leading actress in Deep Throat , and who, according to her own statements, had abused her and forced her to appear in pornographic films.

In the 2004 US presidential election , Marilyn Chambers was a candidate for the office of vice president for the Personal Choice Party ; The presidential candidate was Charles Jay .

On April 12, 2009, 56-year-old Chambers was found dead by her daughter in her trailer in Santa Clarita. External influence is excluded.

Chambers was married three times. She married Doug Chapin in 1971 and divorced in 1974, followed by a marriage with Chuck until 1985. From 1991 or 1992 to 1994 she was married to William Taylor, with whom she had the 1992 daughter McKenna Marie Taylor.
