Tom Cross (film editor)

Tom Cross is an American film editor .

life and work

Cross has been working in the field of film editing since 1997 , initially as an assistant editor. As a stand-alone editor, he was primarily involved in several documentaries in the early 2000s; from 2010, feature films followed.

For his work on Whiplash Cross was nominated for several film awards and won a. a. the Oscar in the Best Editing category . Other awards included the British Academy Film Award for Best Editing , the Chicago Film Critics Association's Award for Best Editing , the Gold Derby Award and an Independent Spirit Award . He received another Oscar nomination in 2017 for the musical La La Land , for which he also received other awards and nominations.

His editing work on Aufbruch zum Mond (2018) was also awarded. It won awards from the Austin Film Critics Association and the Boston Society of Film Critics . There is also a Critics' Choice Movie Award and his third Gold Derby Award.
