Tom Gunnar Krause , also Thomas Krause ( July 5, 1934 in Helsinki - December 6, 2013 in Hamburg ) was a Finnish opera and lieder singer ( bass baritone ).

Life

The son of an insurance director spoke seven languages ​​fluently and initially studied medicine in Helsinki. From 1956 he studied singing in Hamburg and at the Vienna Music Academy . Krause was particularly known for his Mozart interpretations and his recitals. He has participated several times at the Bayreuth Festival and the Salzburg Festival .
