Tomašek , also Tomášek, Tomasek or Tomaschek (Germanized), is a widespread Czech family name , occurs mainly in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria (here mainly in the Germanized form Tomaschek). Originated from the pet form (Tomášek = little Thomas , Thomaslein) of Tomáš, in German Thomas, named either after the Apostle Thomas or Saint Thomas Aquinas .
