Tomas Danilevičius (born July 18, 1978 in Klaipėda ) is a former Lithuanian football player and sports official, head of Lietuvos futbolo federacija since 2017 . He played in the position of striker and is the record scorer of the Lithuanian national team with 19 goals. In addition, Danilevičius is one of the best footballers that Lithuania could produce.
Career

Tomas Danilevičius began his career in his hometown with Atlantas Klaipėda , in the 1995/96 season he then moved abroad for the first time to KSK Beveren , where he was never used, which is why he moved to league rivals FC Bruges after one season . But it was hardly used in Bruges either. As a result, Danilevičius often changed clubs without being able to assert himself, however, FK Dynamo Moscow , FC Lausanne-Sport , Dunfermline Athletic and FC Arsenal were the stations.
For the 2001/02 season Danilevičius then returned to KSK Beveren , this time he became a regular player and he was able to score 12 goals. Nevertheless, he changed clubs again after just one season, this time AS Livorno was the goal. Here it was used regularly and in 2003/04 the promotion to the Serie A . For the 2005/06 season Danilevičius was loaned to the Serie B club US Avellino . Since he was able to convince here with good performances and 17 goals, he returned to the AS Livorno squad for the 2006/07 season.
In the winter of 2007 he moved to FC Bologna and in January 2008 to US Grosseto , before returning to Livorno in summer 2008. In August 2011 Danilevičius moved to SS Juve Stabia on a free transfer , where he came to almost 50 missions and was able to score 12 goals. After another brief change of club, he ended his career in 2014.
National team
Danilevičius was appointed to the Lithuanian A-team for the first time in 1998 and since then has played over 70 games, he was considered seeded in the storm and his qualities were indispensable for his team, later he was also captain for several years. The most important of his 19 goals scored is his goal against the highly favored Italy on September 2, 2006 in the course of qualifying for the 2008 European Championship . The game, which ended in a 1-1 draw, is considered one of the most memorable games in the history of the Lithuanian federation.
