Tomasz Zahorski (born November 22, 1984 in Olsztyn , Poland ) is a former Polish football player .
Career
In the club
The striker played in his youth in some unterklassigen clubs such as Pisa Barczewo, Stomil Olsztyn or Tęcza Biskupiec before the then third division he 2004 OKS 1945 Olsztyn hired. Here he was able to fight for a regular place straight away and moved to Groclin Grodzisk in the Ekstraklasa (highest Polish league) after the past season . However, the competition for him was very great here, so that he moved to league rivals Górnik Łęczna after the season . There he became a regular player and was less able to convince with his scoring threat (four goals), but he was characterized by excellent technique and excellent assists. This aroused the interest of the Polish record champion Górnik Zabrze . For the 2007/08 season he finally moved to Zabrze and won over all critics with his style of play (30 games / 10 goals).
In January 2012 Tomasz Zahorski moved to the German second division club MSV Duisburg . In Duisburg, however, the striker was unable to win the coach's trust and only made four appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga. For the 2012/13 season he signed a two-year contract with the Polish first division club Jagiellonia Białystok , which, however, was dissolved again at the end of December 2012 after only four appearances in the Ekstraklasa.
A month later, Zahorski signed a new contract with league rivals and his ex-club Górnik Zabrze until the end of the 2012/13 season with an option for another year. After only eight games in the Ekstraklasa and one goal scored, his contract was not extended after the end of the season.
On July 22, 2013 Tomasz Zahorski signed a 1.5-year contract with the American second division club San Antonio Scorpions . In his first season for the Scorpions, Zahorski scored nine goals in 14 games. In November 2013 he extended his contract, which expired at the end of the year, for another two years. In 2014 he scored six goals in 19 league games and played a decisive role in winning the championship. In April 2015 he moved to the United Soccer League (3rd division) for Charlotte Independence . In 17 league games Tomasz Zahorski scored 3 goals in the United Soccer League. In February 2016 he moved to the 2nd Polish league to GKS Katowice , where he signed a 6-month contract. For GKS Zahroski completed 9 league games and scored 2 goals. For the 2016/2017 season he joined the Polish second division team Stomil Olsztyn . He ended his active career here in the summer of 2018.
National team
On October 17, 2007 Tomasz Zahorski made his debut for the Polish senior team against Hungary . National coach Leo Beenhakker even nominated him for the squad for the European Championships in Austria and Switzerland . However, he has not been nominated since the beginning of 2009.
