The Tomi is a river in the Central African Republic .

geography

It rises in the west of the Kémo prefecture , east of the city of Bogangolo . The Tomi and the Kouma unite not far from the Ubangi, forming the approximately 10 km long Kémo.

traffic

The river has only a slight gradient from Sibut and was therefore navigable for pirogues . This is why the city has developed into a hub in trade with Chad in historical times .

Hydrometry

The flow rate of the river was measured over 25 years (1951–76) in Sibut, about two thirds of the catchment area. The mean annual flow rate observed in Sibut during this period was 15.7 m³ / s.
