Life

The brother of the cameraman Karl Attenberger worked between 1899 and 1903 as a trainee for a newspaper, an editorial assistant and as a reporter in Munich, Vienna , Zurich and London . From 1904 to 1909 he traveled extensively to America, Africa and Europe. During this time he worked as a travel reporter. He also worked temporarily as a publishing editor at the Berlin publishing house 'Harmonia'.

Toni Attenberger joined the film in 1909 as a director and author. From 1914 to 1916 he served in the war, in 1917 he founded the Munich production company Kabinettfilm Toni Attenberger , with which he made feature and expedition and animal films in Africa and America. According to his own statement, he claims to have made 103 feature films between 1919 and 1924. At that time, Attenberger was also the first chairman and founder of the Bavarian Film Manufacturers Association.

In 1924 Attenberger left the field of classic feature films and began producing animal film documentaries. From 1930 to 1936 he ran the ' Große Kulturfilm ' production, which went bankrupt in 1936. Toni Attenberger then went on lecture tours as part of the German National Education Association .

Eventually he switched to writing. There, too, Attenberger remained thematically linked to flora and fauna. His first book ' The Laughing Poodle ' was published in 1939. The next year, ' The Endless Forest ', was published again. The last publication was the children's book "Mi-Ur - the Tiger", published in 1948 by Umschau Verlag.
