Toni Bürgler (born August 17, 1957 in Rickenbach ) is a former Swiss alpine ski racer.

Bürgler celebrated his international successes exclusively in downhill skiing . He won two World Cup races in his career, including the Lauberhorn race in Wengen in 1981 as his most important victory . Two years earlier, on January 14, 1979, he had won as an "outsider" (he wore starting number 21) in Crans-Montana .

Because he violated the newly introduced rule, according to which racing drivers are only allowed to take off their skis after a specially marked red line behind the finish, he was disqualified on December 19, 1982 in Val Gardena after the World Cup downhill there.

His younger brother Thomas , however, celebrated successes in the other disciplines.

Bürgler was among the top 10 19 times. At the 1982 World Ski Championships in Schladming , he finished eighth. His son Dario Bürgler is a professional ice hockey player at HC Lugano.
