Toni Wachsmuth (born November 15, 1986 in Neuhaus am Rennweg ) is a former German soccer player . The left-footed defender last played for FSV Zwickau and is currently the sports director of the FSV .

Career

Wachsmuth played for FC Carl Zeiss Jena since 1998 . At the age of 17 he was promoted to the first team in 2004, with which he was promoted to the regional league in 2005 and to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2006.

In the first half of the following 2006/07 season he was only used in three games shortly before the winter break, but convinced with enthusiasm. In the second half of the season, Wachsmuth played 13 out of 17 possible games; the FC Carl Zeiss Jena achieved in the end the target relegation.

At the beginning of the 2007/08 Bundesliga season, Toni Wachsmuth moved to Energie Cottbus . There he played for a year in the regional league, but did not get into the Bundesliga team. At the end of the season, he switched to the second division relegated SC Paderborn 07 . With the SCP he succeeded in direct recovery. In the next two years, however, he was unable to establish himself in the second division team due to protracted knee problems and only made 18 appearances.

In 2011 he left Paderborn to join the third division Chemnitzer FC . In 2014, Wachsmuth moved to the regional league team FSV Zwickau . With the Zwickauer he became champion of the Regionalliga Nordost in the 2015/16 season and made it to the 3rd division.

After the active career

After the end of the 2018/19 season, Wachsmuth ended his active career and followed David Wagner as sports director of the FSV.
