The Tjossowo peat railway ( Russian Тёсовская узкоколейная железная дорога , Tjossowskaja uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga ) is a field railway in the Russian Oblast of Novgorod .

history

The first section of the narrow-gauge railway was opened in 1939. The track with a track width of 750 mm has a total length of 19 km and connects the settlement (until 2009 urban type ) Tjossowo-Netylski with the peat bog area .

The Tyosovo Railway Museum ( Russian Музей Тёсовской железной дороги ) is a railway museum in Tyosovo-Netylski. The museum opened in 2014. Since 2013, a re-enactment of the Battle of the Volkhov (also called Lyuban Operation, Russian Любанская операция) has been held here every year .
