Torgils Moe

Torgils Schrøder Moe (born March 26, 1929 in Narvik , † June 13, 2015 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian actor, singer and pianist.

Life

Moe grew up in Narvik in his childhood and moved to Oslo in 1951 to study psychology, which he ended prematurely. As a versatile person, he began to appear in the Revyscene of Chat Noir in Oslo. Moe qualified further and later worked as a stage actor, musician, pianist and singer, which is how he gained his first notoriety. Furthermore, Torgils Moe also worked as an opera singer in the baritone voice. During this time he was also known as an interpreter of works by Birger Sjöberg . In the 1960s he appeared together with Kaare Ørnung with a number of song programs on Norwegian radio at the NRK . He published some of his compositions, melodies, poems and pieces of music together with the Norwegian artist Jakob Sande on record at EMI .

From 1962 Moe had his debut in the musical film Operasjon Løvsprett and then he got further engagements in Norwegian film and television productions. Due to his strong stature and his height of two meters, he often got a criminal part or negative character, such as B. assigned roles as bouncers, bodyguards, thugs and collectors. In 1969 he appeared in the comedy Og takk for det and in 1970 Moe appeared in the Ole Høiland film adaptation of the robber and master thief, in ballads om mestertyven Ole Høiland as an executioner. In 1976 Moe played the role of a brutal doorman in the restaurant alongside Harald Heide-Steen junior and Rolv Wesenlund in the television series Fleksnes . In the Norwegian film series on the Olsen Gang he played the floor waiter in the Grand Hotel in Olsenbanden møter Kongen & Knekten and, in its sequel, Olsenbandens siste bedrifter Egon Olsen's adversary and Schlägers Biffen . In later films in the Norwegian Olsen series, this role of the Olsen gang enemy was cast by the same actor Ove Verner Hansen , as in the original Olsen gang from Denmark .

He had other well-known appearances in 1972 in Norske byggeklosser and in 1983 as Bæla in Søsken på Guds jord . Before Moe retired, he had his last appearance in a supporting role in 1996 in the international adventure film Tashunga .

Since 1999 Moe has been dependent on a wheelchair due to a leg amputation.

Moe lived until the end in the Oslo district and the Romsås development area . He was also the grandfather of the Norwegian actor Tarjei Sandvik Moe .
