Kaare Ørnung

Kaare Alexander Ørnung (born January 26, 1931 in Oslo ; † October 2, 2013 there ) was a Norwegian pianist , university teacher and music teacher .

Life

In 1952 Ørnung made his debut as a pianist and musician and then worked at the Veitvet Conservatory of Music from 1959 to 1973 . From 1968 he worked as a teacher at the Statens Operahøgskole (State Opera School) in Oslo, from 1973 as a university professor with a teaching qualification at the Norwegian Academy of Music and in 1974 he was appointed associate professor at this school.

Together with Arve Tellefsen he published several pieces of classical music on record, such as 1977 Du milde Mosart 1980 Serenade . The latter was in Norway in 1980 and 1981 in the top 15 places in the VG lista for 12 weeks . Ørnung also took part in the musical vocal duo Knutsen & Ludvigsen of the Norwegian musicians Øystein Dolmen ("Knutsen") and Gustav Lorentzen ("Ludvigsen"), two albums of which won the 1972 Spellemannprisen .

He was on several concert tours in Germany and abroad. He also worked for the Norwegian cultural institution and concert organization Rikskonsertene . Ørnung took part in many concerts and pieces of music, mostly as musical accompaniment on piano and grand piano , and had many appearances on Norwegian radio and television at the NRK . In addition, he had a long career as a soloist at home and abroad.
