The Torrey's Peak is a mountain in the Front Range region of the Rocky Mountains in the US state of Colorado . At 4,349 meters high, it is one of the 54 so-called " Fourteeners " in Colorado, the mountains over 14,000 feet (4,267 m) high.
The first ascent took place in 1861 by the botanist Charles C. Parry , who named the mountain after his colleague John Torrey .
Torreys Peak is located on the continental divide in close proximity to Grays Peak . The Interstate 70 runs only a few kilometers away.
