Torsten Ivan Lindqvist (born  December 2, 1925 in Säffle , †  November 3, 2002 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish pentathlete .

Career

Lindqvist took part in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki , where he finished ninth in the individual competition. In the team championship he finished second behind Hungary with Claes Egnell and Lars Hall and thus won the silver medal.

At the 1951 World Cup , he had already won the title with the team . In the individual, he placed third behind Lars Hall and Lauri Vilkko . In 1953 he defended his title in the team competition .

After his career as an athlete, he worked as an internationally recognized nuclear physicist .
