Tory Burch (born Tory Robinson June 17, 1966 in Valley Forge , Pennsylvania , USA ) is an American fashion designer and entrepreneur.

Life

Tory Robinson grew up in the family of a businessman and an actress of Jewish descent on a farm in Valley Forge. She studied art history at the University of Pennsylvania , joined the Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity and graduated in 1988. She was married for the second time to entrepreneur Christopher Burch from 1996 to 2006, has three children and three stepchildren and bears the name of her second husband.

Robinson began her work in fashion design in New York City , where she initially a. a. worked for Harper's Bazaar , Vera Wang and Polo Ralph Lauren . She created her own label TRB by Tory Burch in 2004. Her company grew to over 120 Tory Burch stores and one flagship store each in New York, Los Angeles, London, Rome, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai, as well as e-commerce sites in seven languages. The brand is represented in over 3,000 stores worldwide.

Financial services company The Motley Fool estimated their company's 2013 revenue to be $ 1 billion.
