Toshihiro Ono ( Japanese 小野 敏 洋 Ono Toshihiro ; born February 27, 1965 in Aichi Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist .

Life

Ono started drawing comics in elementary school. Before his career as a manga artist, he created illustrations for advertising companies, columns in men's magazines and English dictionaries. At that time he was also employed as an assistant for various cartoonists (including Suzue Miuchi ).

His first work as a professional manga artist was published in 1986 in the manga magazine Manga House ( マ ン ガ ハ ウ ス , manga hausu ). The breakthrough was only to come when in 1991 he took part in the 22nd Fujiko-Fujio junior competition organized by Coro Coro Comic Magazine, which is aimed at elementary school students , and won it with the 32-page short story Yadokari-kun ( ヤ ド カ リ く ん ). This award gave him the opportunity to publish with Shogakukan , one of the largest Japanese comic publishers.

In 1992 he brought out a manga for the video game series The Legend of Zelda in a sister magazine of Coro Coro Comic , Bessatsu Coro Coro Comic , under the title Zelda no Densetsu Gaiden . In the same year he started the Barcode Fighter series in the Coro Coro Comic and finished it in 1994 after around 900 pages in five anthologies. He also expanded Yadokari-kun into a series; to this was published in 1996 by Shogakukan an anthology.

Because an anime adaptation of the video game series Pokémon started on television, Ono started a manga series for Bessatsu Coro Coro Comic in 1997 in collaboration with Nintendo and the makers of the animated series, Dengeki! Pikachu . Until 1999 he worked on the 600-page comic series, which Shogakukan also brought out in four edited volumes. With his comic, Ono stuck to individual episodes of the anime. Some scenes contained erotic connotations in the representation , which were removed from the English translation by the American publisher Viz ; Text passages were partially reformulated and drawings retouched.

This was followed by a manga based on Hiroyuki Morioka's novel series Seikai no Monshō and a comic about the trading card game Magic: The Gathering . From 2001 to 2003 he published the series Neko no Ō in the adult-readership magazine Sunday GX , which also appeared in five books. After the completion of this work, he turned increasingly from the Shogakukan publishing house. Since then she has worked for various publishers such as Media Works or Jive .

In addition to these children Comics Ono created under the name Sampei Kamirenjaku ( 上連雀三平 Kamirenjaku Sampei ) pornographic manga in Dōjinshi -Zirkel GAME DOME , here mainly in Futanari genre of. In 1997, for example, the series Anal Justice was published in Comic Zip magazine and then in book form by France Shoin . In 2002 the serial volume Anal Justice - Nikubō Shaseihen followed .
