Structure (construction)

Structure of a half-timbered house
In the building industry, supporting structure is a term for the overall static system of supporting members, which are decisive for the stability of a structure .
The structure of a building usually consists of ceilings , beams , columns , walls and the foundation .
The structural analysis has two large groups of structures:
- Frameworks and trusses ( bars , beams , supports , frames )
- Area structures , consisting of plates , disks , shells or membranes ( area statics ).
