The Tranter Glacier is a glacier in the Ross Dependency of Antarctica . In the northern part of the Queen Elizabeth Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it flows to the Nimrod Glacier , where it joins between the mountains of Mount Chivers and Mount Boman .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis own Tellurometervermessungen and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy from the years between 1960 and 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1966 by David L. Tranter, glaciologist of the United States Antarctic Research Program on of Roosevelt Island from 1962 to 1963.
