Trapezoids

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trapeze was an English rock band that was formed in March 1969 and last appeared in 1994. The history of the band was shaped by the frequent personnel changes. Although the band themselves could not achieve any major commercial success, some musicians later became known with bands such as Black Sabbath , Deep Purple , Whitesnake , Judas Priest or Uriah Heep or were involved in all star rock music projects, such as Phenomena , active.

The band released the first four albums on Threshold Records , the band's own label of Moody Blues .

The core of the band were the musicians Glenn Hughes , Mel Galley and Dave Holland . After Glenn Hughes left the band in 1973 to join Deep Purple , Galley and Holland tried to keep the band together. However, the members changed constantly until Holland left the band in 1979 and played with Judas Priest . Mel Galley continued to run the band until 1982 when he joined Whitesnake himself and singer Pete Goalby received an offer from Uriah Heep.

After leaving Judas Priest in 1990, Holland tried again to revive the band. But there was only one joint tour from 1991 to 1992, as Glenn Hughes concentrated again on his solo career. And in 1994 Galley, Hughes and Holland only met for a single gig to pay tribute to the late singer Ray Gillen (ex-Black Sabbath / -Phenomena / -Badlands).
