history

Founded Trekkingbike 2002. This year, two test issues were initially from the publisher planned. The first issue appeared on March 13, 2002. The magazine was then a special of bike magazine . Another test edition followed in June 2002. Fred Wipperfürth was the editor-in-chief .

On February 26, 2003, the magazine started with four issues a year after two test issues. In September 2003 TREKKINGBIKE changed the editor-in-chief and relocated its editorial office from Cologne to Munich. Since then, the new editor-in-chief has been Tom Bierl, who was editorially responsible for the sister paper bike from 1996 to 2000 . The publisher has now merged its three bicycle magazines bike , tour and trekking bike into one location. Trekkingbike has appeared six times a year since 2004 .

With issue 1-2018, Tekkingbike was discontinued. The Delius-Klasing publishing house started the new Mybike magazine on February 14, 2018, with a much more focus on electric bicycles. The editorial team includes employees from Tekkingbike as well as from the magazine E-Bike, which has also been discontinued. Tom Bierl is no longer an editor. The editor-in-chief of MYBIKE is Thomas Musch, who is also the TOUR editor-in-chief.

Products

Awards

Trekkingbike has awarded the Trekkingbike Milestone once a year since 2008 . This prize was intended to honor companies from the bicycle industry for innovative and pioneering products . The editorial team nominated three products in each of the three categories of complete bike / frame set, components and accessories. The trekking bike readers then decided on the award of the milestone in an online vote . The trekking bike milestones were awarded annually at the Eurobike trade fair in Friedrichshafen .
