The tremellals (Tremellales) are an order of the Tremellomycetes . They live on dying or dead twigs and branches of different tree species. In the past, the associated species were included in the now obsolete class of Phragmobasidiomycetes or Heterobasidiomycetes due to their longitudinally septate basidia .
In Central Europe there are around 200 species of mushrooms belonging to this order.
description
The shiver-like can shrink when dry and swell up again when wet. The fruit bodies are gelatinous when swollen. The basidia are septate lengthways.
