Trevor White (born April 27, 1984 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ski racer . He specialized in the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .

biography

The son of a ski instructor couple went through the talent development program of Olympic champion Nancy Greene in his youth . In December 1999, White took part in international FIS races for the first time , and from January 2001 there were assignments in the Nor-Am Cup , the North American continental championship. In 2003 he was accepted into the support group of the Canadian national team, but successes remained for the time being and in the 2006/07 season he could not contest any races due to injury.

Although White was only able to tackle the season in January 2008 and had therefore missed several races, he was classified in fourth place in the slalom classification in the 2007/08 season of the Nor-Am Cup. It had its premiere in the Ski World Cup on January 20, 2008 at the Hahnenkamm Slalom in Kitzbühel . On January 18, 2009, he got his first World Cup points when he finished 23rd in the Lauberhorn Slalom in Wengen . He achieved his best result seven days later as eighth of the Kitzbühel Slalom. After that, White drove into the top 20 several times, but no further top 10 placements in the World Cup. In February 2009 he took part in the slalom world championship in Val-d'Isère , but was disqualified after a goal error in the first run.

In 2010 White started at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and finished 31st in the slalom. At the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he finished 20th in slalom. Successful experiences were largely absent in the two following seasons, so that in March 2013 he announced his retirement from top-class sport.
