Trifolium sect. Paramesus is a section in the genus Klee ( Trifolium ). It contains only two species from Eurasia. Some authors suggestincludingthem in the Lotoidea section. Characteristics are the glandular teeth on the stipules and on the calyx.

description

Species of the Paramesus section are annual , herbaceous plants . The stipules are serrated glandular. Bracts are present and tiny.

The flowers are sessile. The calyx is ten-nerved and toothed glandular. The calyx tube is open and the calyx teeth are unequal. The petals of the butterfly blossom are fused at the base.

The legumes have two seeds and protrude from the calyx.

Systematics

The type of section is the stiff clover ( Trifolium strictum L.). Most closely related is probably the Lotoidea section .
