Truckradio (spelling: TruckRadio) was a private radio station of Starlet Media AG based in Fürth , Bavaria . Truckradio broadcast a program consisting primarily of country and rock music and addressed the target group of professional drivers ("truckers") and long-term drivers .
history
The transmitter started broadcasting on December 6, 2004 via medium-wave transmitters in Jülich and Nordkirchen . The program should be aimed at a target group of 25–65 year olds. The word share was between 5% and 25%. The program was moderated live Monday through Saturday and there was news every hour.
The station could be received on several medium wave frequencies in Germany until September 2008 and also via FM in Austria .
reception
- 531 kHz ( Burg transmitter )
- 702 kHz ( transmitter Jülich )
- 738 kHz ( Hirschlanden transmitter )

It was also planned to broadcast the program via a medium wave transmitter in Frankfurt on the frequency 1080 kHz and via digital radio throughout Hamburg and Saxony. However, this was never done.
The end of broadcasting
In Austria , truck radio was broadcast terrestrially via VHF in Spittal an der Drau , but expansion thanks to two new frequencies was never carried out. At the beginning of 2008, KommAustria did not renew the license .
As a result, the broadcaster filed for bankruptcy in mid-May 2008.
After the shutdown of the terrestrial frequencies in September 2008, broadcasting was only possible via the Internet until the beginning of September 2009.
