Localization of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany

The medium wave transmitter Nordkirchen was a disused transmission system of Media Broadcast in Nordkirchen . Because of its location between Recklinghausen and Münster , the transmitter was initially called "Recklinghausen" in the Geneva wave plan , and "Münster-Nordkirchen" was also occasionally used. On March 21, 2018, the masts of the transmitter were demolished.

The transmitter had an output of 100 kilowatts and had an identical reserve transmitter. From 1978 onwards, 20 kW output was used from this location. A directional antenna consisting of two 99.5 meter high self-radiating transmitter masts , isolated from earth, was used as the antenna system . Through this, the signal was faded out consistently in the direction of 200 ° to 270 ° in order to avoid interference with the now switched off Wavre transmitter in Belgium.

use

From the start of operation until December 31, 2015, the Deutschlandfunk program was broadcast on the medium wave frequency 549 kHz.

In addition, there was still a small transmitter that by 15 May 2008, the program of 6 December 2004 TruckRadio transferred to 855 kHz with a power of 5 kW.
