season 1

Sookie works in a little bar called Merlotte's and is dissatisfied with herself and her life. When Bill enters, she is initially happy because Bill is the first vampire she meets. But two other guests catch Bill and try to drain his blood. Sookie saves him and so the two start a conversation.

Bill saves Sookie's life by letting her drink his blood after killing her attacker, thereby healing her. Sookie only finds out afterwards that there are side effects, such as sharpening her senses, increasing her libido and forever connecting Bill with her. Meanwhile, Jason is released from interrogation after it is revealed that the police have no evidence against him. But what about Maudette's murder?

Sookie has clearly been frightened by the behavior of Bill's vampire friends and tries to avoid any contact with him - at least that is what her head says, but her heart makes it difficult for her to remain consistent. When Sookie and Jason find a friend and colleague from the bar murdered in their apartment, Jason is again under suspicion by the police. To avoid additional punishment, Jason drinks all of the V Lafayette gave him. After not following the cook's advice, he has to grapple with the consequences of the overdose. Meanwhile, Sookie visits the vampire bar Fangtasia with Bill , with the intention of finding out more about the murders of Maudette and Dawn in order to relieve her brother, while she meets the vampire Eric.

After they fled Fangtasia , Sookie is again unsettled when she saw Bill charm a police officer. When he spoke to Sookie's grandmother about his experiences in the civil war in front of the assembled congregation , she accompanied Sam to the event. The mayor Bon Temps gives the vampire a photo from the city archive, which reminds him of his family as well as of his transformation into the undead.

When Sookie finds her murdered grandmother in the kitchen, Bill and Sam suddenly appear. After taking a Valium that Lafayette gave her, she sleeps. However, Bill has a vision of the waitress being strangled in her sleep. However, since the sun is still shining outside, he is forced to wait idly until night falls.

Meanwhile, Tara is wondering if she needs an exorcism as well and Sam is ready to pay for it.

Sookie learns that Sam is a shapeshifter and is very disappointed that he did not reveal this beforehand. Tara has the exorcism performed and appears to be healed. But then she realizes that the exorcist is just a supermarket seller and collapses completely. Meanwhile, Bill has to answer for the murder at a vampire tribunal.

Bill qualifies for the vampire tribunal by transforming a young woman (Jessica) into a vampire. Sookie tries to find out what is hidden behind her visions. Amy stakes Eddie and Jason helps her clean up the vampire residue. Tara is jailed for drunk driving and is taken out by Maryann Forrester, a social worker. Lafayette visits the Senator at his campaign rally to give him a subliminal warning. Sookie finds himself drawn to Sam. While Jason and Amy take V one last time , Amy is killed during this "dream phase". Jason then turns himself in to the police.

Tara is impressed by Maryann Forrester and meets the handsome Eggs. Jason feels converted to anti-vampirism. Sookie finds out who the killer is and is followed by him. Bill notices this and rushes to help her in the daylight.

A body is found in Andy's car. It is the woman who performed the exorcism. Bill tries to further educate Jessica. When Jessica and Sookie get to know each other, Sookie is totally disappointed that Bill hasn't said anything. Jason became more and more interested in the community of the sun and met the leaders Steve and Sarah. They invite him to their training camp and Jason accepts. Lafayette has been kidnapped and is imprisoned with Eric. Sam meets Maryann again and remembers their first meeting many years ago. Daphne joins Sam as the new waitress. Tara and Eggs are getting closer and closer.

Lafayette is questioned and tortured by Eric for dealing with V. He tries to escape, but is stopped and nearly sucked out by Eric and his cronies. Jason drives to the Sun Community training camp and gets to know the others there. He begins to reflect on his own life. Jason is very successful at the camp and is very well received by the leaders. But Luke, another classmate, begins to envy him this situation. Daphne is now Sam's employee, but is absolutely clumsy. Maryann visits the bar and a short time later all the guests are celebrating like crazy. When Sookie hears about Jessica's family on TV, the two talk about loss. Jessica persuades Sookie to take her over to her parents' home. Jessica spontaneously leaves the car and invades her parents' house. The situation there escalates.

After an argument with Bill, Sookie leaves the car and is attacked by a mysterious being. The healing is possible, but painful. But Bill and Eric can't explain what attacked Sookie. When Sookie wakes up again in Fangtasia , she finds Lafayette there. To free him, Sookie makes a deal with Eric. She is supposed to look for a vampire in Dallas for Eric, who is missing, so that Eric can release Lafayette. Meanwhile, Jason has to deal with his past more and more. At Maryann's there is a celebration and all the guests turn up. When Jessica wakes up and Bill is not there, she goes to Merlotte’s . There she meets Hoyt and takes him home.

Sam gets to know Daphne better and better and starts to like her. Jason is in the community of the sun becoming more popular and becomes a soldier of the sun appointed. Jason also goes to an elite training camp. Tara moves in with Sookie. Since Tara's birthday, Maryann organizes a birthday party at Sookie's house. There Sam and Maryann meet again. Maryann reveals part of her power and causes excessive celebration. Lafayette is almost dying when Eric comes and offers him his blood. Lafayette gets on the deal and is completely cured. Sookie flies to Dallas with Bill and Jessica, where Sookie is almost kidnapped. That's why Eric travels to Dallas. When the room boy brings something over to Sookie's, she notices that the room boy can read minds too.

Daphne reveals to Sam that she is also a shapeshifter. The two sleep together and become a couple. When Sookie confronts Barry, the room boy, he is dismissive because he doesn't want any contact with her and detests his skills. Along with the Dallas Vampires, Eric and Bill decide that Sookie should infiltrate the Sun's community . It turns out that the missing vampire is Eric's doer. Then, surprisingly, Bill's maker Lorena turns up. Jason arrives at the training camp and has to endure the merciless military drill. But Sarah, the wife of the leader, comes closer to Jason sexually and satisfies him. Lafayette starts again with Sam, but is completely different. He has become silent and fearful. Maryann and Eggs want to move in with Tara - and thus with Sookie. When she refuses, Maryann makes Tara's work day - of course without Tara noticing - turn into hell. Completely frustrated and exhausted, Tara agrees to move in.

Lorena wants Bill back and remembers her old days. A vampire sends his humans with Sookie so that she doesn't have to infiltrate the community of the sun on her own . Sookie learns that Godric the vampire is there, but the two are discovered and imprisoned. Lorena blocks Bill so he can't help Sookie. Hoyt drives to Jessica in Dallas. Lafayette receives an order from Pam, Eric's descendant, to sell V again . Tara and Eggs go shopping. Eggs recognizes an area and they follow the trail. Daphne lures Sam to a place where an orgy is going on. Maryann stands in the middle with a bull mask and reaches for a knife to kill Sam.

Sam escapes because Andy steps in between. The next morning, Tara and Eggs noticed that they couldn't remember anything and became suspicious. The Sun Community learns that Sookie and Jason are related and want to kill Jason, since they now assume that he is also working with vampires. Lorena continues to block Bill and tries to awaken his old feelings. Hoyt sleeps with Jessica. Daphne explains to Sam about Maryann's nature: Maryann is a maenad - a kind of wild energy (e.g. lust, anger, sex, violence). Then Daphne is killed by Eggs, under the influence of Maryann, and the body is hidden by her in Merlotte's . At the last moment, Godric comes to Sookie.

Godric wants Eric to bring Sookie home. But the two are caught and are to be executed. Bill and Jason also break into the church and want to save Sookie. It is Godric who stops bloodshed at the last second. Sam is lured into his bar and finds Daphne's body there. However, he is then discovered by the police and locked up on suspicion of murder. Maryann has boiled Daphne's heart and feeds it as a souffle to Tara and Eggs, who then become violent. Eric and Bill argue about Sookie, Jason and Bill argue. Godric is active again as a sheriff and, to the surprise of many, speaks loud mercy orders. But then Luke, a soldier of the sun , appears and is draped over and over with silver and explosives.

While humans and vampires clean up the wreckage of the chaos, Eric uses a ruse to get Sookie to drink his blood, much to Bill's horror. Because of the safety deficiencies, Godric's leadership skills will be monitored more closely from now on. But his answer astonishes those around him. Eric in particular begs him to refrain from his plan. At the same time, Maryann is looking for Sam to complete the ritual. She doesn't shy away from a curse either.

Sookie, Jason and Bill return to Bon Temps to find an entire city in turmoil. Every resident is now under Maryann's spell and is looking for Sam. In order not to be found, it changes its shape again and again. They meet Maryann in Sookie's house. Bill has had unpleasant experiences with her before, but Sookie seems to have an unexpected strength that even Maryann did not know.

The chaos in Bon Temps reaches its climax when Maryann prepares the ultimate sacrificial ritual and includes Sookie as the bridesmaid of the bloody wedding. In order to save Sookie and the city, Sam has no choice but to place his life and trust in the hands of a very implausible ally.

Sam tries to find out something about the illegal dog fights among the shapeshifters.

Eric wrestles with his conscience as he forges the perfect plot of revenge against Russell. Sookie, fed up with her vampire acquaintances, imagines a life without Bill or another vampire. He finds out that his friend has much more to offer than camaraderie.

Tara moved to New Orleans, where she lives under an assumed name.

Sookie learns Eric has bought her house and asks Bill for help. Crystal explains to Jason that he should be turned into a Werpanther. Tara returns to Bon Temps. Sam made the acquaintance of the shapeshifter Luna and is getting closer to her.

Pam wants Eric to hide from Bill. Sookie takes him in. Lafayette wants to ask Eric for forgiveness and goes to Fangtasia, but only finds Pam there, who demands that he bring Marnie to her. The Werpanthers rape Jason to father offspring. Bill begins a sexual relationship with Andy's sister Portia. The fairy Claudine appears in Sookie's garden and is killed by Eric.

Eric gets into sunlight through Claudine's blood and disappears. Sookie looks for him with the help of Alcide, who now lives with Debbie in Shreveport. Jesus, Lafayette and Tara persuade Marnie to lift the curse. The ghost of the witch Antonia takes control of Marnie and also curses Pam. Jason is severely injured and is able to flee the Werpanthern and is saved by Jessica. Tommy visits his parents who take him prisoner to use him for dog fights. Bill looks in vain for Eric.

Bill charms Portia to end her relationship with her. Alcide is visited by Marcus, the leader of the local werewolf pack. He wants to persuade him to join the pack. Jason is drawn to Jessica. Her grandmother's ghost warns Sookie about Marnie and Eric. Still, Sookie and Eric get closer. Bill captures Marnie and learns that Eric is staying with Sookie. Tommy kills his parents. Sam helps him make the bodies disappear.

Arlene and Terry's house burns down. Her baby Mikey sees the ghost of a woman named Mavis. Lafayette learns from Jesus' grandfather that he is a medium. Tommy takes the form of Sam, fires Sookie and sleeps with Luna. Jason fears that he will turn into a werpanther when the moon is full, but that doesn't happen. Bill captures Eric and sentences him to death, but pardons him. Sookie sleeps with Eric.

Marnie escapes from captivity. Bill knows that she has a spell that will make all the vampires in the area go into the sunlight. He orders his subjects to leave Louisiana or to chain themselves in silver during the day. Alcide and Debbie join the pack of Marcus. Sam finds out what Tommy has done and throws him out of the apartment. Lafayette sees the spirit of Mavis. Marnie's coven casts the spell and kills a vampire. Jessica manages to break free from her bonds and kills a guard to go into the sun.
44	8th	Bewitched	Spellbound	Aug 14, 2011	1st Mar 2012
Jason saves Jessica's life. Mavis' ghost takes over Lafayette and kidnaps Mikey. Marcus, the father of Luna's daughter, finds Sam with her and threatens him. Jessica breaks up with Hoyt. Bill, Eric, and Sookie try to negotiate with the witches, but an argument ensues, in the course of which Sookie is seriously injured. Alcide shows up and saves her.

Jesus helps Mavis' spirit find peace. Sam, Luna and their daughter go camping to escape Marcus' wrath. The "Festival of Tolerance" in Shreveport aims to promote peaceful coexistence between humans and vampires. Eric is under Marnie's control and is throwing a bloodbath there. Marcus goes to the Merlottes and leaves a message for Sam that he would like to meet him. Tommy goes to Marcus in the form of Sam and is beaten up by him and other werewolves.
46	10	play with the fire	Burning down the house	28 Aug 2011	March 8 2012
Tommy doesn't want to go to the hospital and Alcide brings him to Sam. The brothers reconcile and Tommy dies. Sam searches for Marcus with Alcide. This is with Debbie and is getting closer to her. Jesus tries to free Marnie from Antonia's spirit, but finds that Marnie is the greater danger. Marnie has put up a protective spell around her hiding place that Tara and Holly are trying to break. Marnie captures Tara, Sookie, and Lafayette.

Bill, Eric, Pam, and Jessica want to blow up Marnie's hiding place, but abandon their plans when they learn that Sookie is being held captive. Antonia's ghost wants to leave Marnie, but is bound by her with a spell. Jesus and Lafayette can solve the spell. The vampires then kill Marnie. Sam and Alcide meet Luna, who is also looking for Marcus, who kidnapped their daughter. They find him with Debbie and Sam beats him up. When Marcus tries to shoot Sam, Alcide kills him. Alcide breaks up with Debbie.

Jason admits to Hoyt that he slept with Jessica and is beaten up by Jessica. Marnie's ghost takes possession of Lafayette, kills Jesus, and captures Bill and Eric. Holly and Tara cast a spell that makes the spirits of the dead appear. The ghosts of Antonia and Sookie's grandmother convince Marnie to follow them into the afterlife. Alcide finds out that Russell Edgington escaped from prison. Steve Newlin has become a vampire and is at Jason's front door. Debbie attacks Sookie, seriously injures Tara and is eventually shot. Nan Flanagan tries to convince Bill and Eric to revolt against the Authority and is impaled by them.
