Trygve Jens Asbjørn Olsen (born November 11, 1921 in Måsøy , † April 17, 1979 ) was a Norwegian politician of the Senterpartiet (Sp). From October 1972 to October 1973 he was the Minister for Fisheries in his country.

Life

Olsen is the son of the fisherman and former member of parliament Johannes Olai Olsen (1895–1974) and Hildur Elisif Gregersen. After attending middle school, he worked as a fisherman from 1939. In 1944 he graduated from the seaman's school in Tromsø . Olsen was also active in fishing associations, for example between 1947 and 1955 he was a member of the board of directors of the Finnmark Fisheries Association.

Like his father, Trygve Olsen was initially active in the working party (Ap). From 1967 to 1971, Olsen was mayor of Måsøy Municipality and was also a member of the Fylkesting of what was then Finnmark Province . Because of the EU policy of the Arbeiderpartiet, however, he joined the Senterpartiet in the spring of 1972. On October 18, 1972, he was appointed Minister of Fisheries in the Korvald bourgeois government . He held this office until the departure of the government on October 16, 1973. Between 1973 and 1979 he sat on the board of the Senterpartiet and was chairman of his party's fishing group.

In 1955 he became the father of Ingalill Olsen , who later also became a politician.
