Korvald's government
The government Korvald was in Norway on 18 October 1972 by Lars Korvald from the Kristelig Folkeparti formed and existed until 16 October 1973. Korvald replaced as prime minister , the first government of Trygve Bratteli off after this, with its exclusively of ministers Arbeiderpartiet existing Minority government had resigned because the referendum on Norway's accession to the European Economic Community (EEC) had turned out negative.
The Korvald government was also a minority government consisting of Kristelig Folkeparti, Senterpartiet and Venstre . In Storting , however, the government coalition only had 47 of the 150 mandates, but was tolerated by the conservative Høyre , which was involved in the Borten government between 1965 and 1971 . However, the majority of the Venstre MPs soon rebelled against the one-sided Eurosceptic orientation of the Korvald government . At a party congress they split off the European wing and founded Det nye Folkeparti , which ran for election in 1973.
In the parliamentary elections of September 10, 1973 , the governing coalition suffered a defeat and only got 43 seats. Brattelis Arbeiderpartiet also suffered a severe defeat and lost 12 of their 74 seats. However, Sosialistisk Valgforbund , which emerged from Sosialistisk Folkeparti , won 16 seats and supported the government formed by Bratteli on October 16, 1973 after the election .
