Ola Skjåk Bræk

Ola Skjåk Bræk (born February 4, 1912 in Eidsvoll , † December 26, 1999 in Trondheim ) was a Norwegian bank manager and politician of the social liberal party Venstre . From October 1972 to October 1973 he was his country's Minister of Industry.

Life

Bræk graduated in 1935 with a degree in jurisprudence from. He then worked as a lawyer until 1940. From 1940 to 1950 he worked as a secretary and inspector at the bank inspection. He then settled in Møre og Romsdal , where he was head of Aalesund Nye Kreditbank , later Sunnmørsbanken , with interruptions until 1979 . In 1950 he was Norway's youngest bank manager.

In the period from 1965 to 1969 he was the first vara representative , i.e. a substitute member of the Storting . As such, it was used on 89 days. On October 18, 1972, he was appointed Minister of Industry in the Korvald government. He held the office until the departure of the government on October 16, 1973.
