Tsai Ching-jung gained her first international experience at the Junior Asian Championships 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City , where she won the bronze medal with a 1.71 m. In 2017 she was fourth at the Asian Youth Championships in Bangkok with a jump of 1.69 m. In 2018 she again took part in the Junior Asian Championships in Gifu , where she won the silver medal behind the Iraqi Maryam Abdulelah with 1.78 m . So she qualified for the U20 World Championships in Tampere , where she was eliminated with 1.80 m in the qualification. At the end of August she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and finished ninth there with 1.75 m.
